A quick bread

>> Saturday, 29 May 2010

We hear about quick-breads all the time but what exactly is a quick bread? Answer: a bread that can be made quickly. Duh! Hold on, not so fast! Yes it can be made quickly but did you know that quick-breads have three methods of mixing? Did you know that the dough/batter consistency varies resulting in different textures? Read this week's column to find out more.

Waking up hungry led to me making this Cheese & Herb Quick Bread. The recipe can be found at the bottom of the column. Enjoy at anytime!

I never thought of quick breads as having 3 different mixing methods. So interesting. I wish I could wake up tomorrow and say "Cyn, how's about one of your great quick breads?" Oh, but I have the recipe, so now I can make it myself!

Hello, Cynthia! Long time no see -- hope you are well! The quick bread looks divine. It might be unconventional but I think I could have this with some of that fish curry from the previous post :)

(Pancakes and egg/salmon combo is also right up my alley... and I am not a breakfast person!?!)

Any bread with lashings of cheese in it is instantly appealing to me, and with those tasty green onions to zest things up... how yum is that?! Thanks for the great recipe, and the low down on quick breads.

Anu August 25, 2010 12:28 PM

I am looking for a recipe to feed 400 women at a brunch. Could I bake this recipe in muffin tins to make serving the crowd easier? And, could I bake ahead and freeze?

Thanks
