I make Kheer, i toast the basmati rice in melted butter until its medium brown and then i add condensed milk, milk, spices and cook it for a long time (1.5hrs) i also add pistachios and flaked almonds plus raisns. My friend uses cooked rice and recooks it in condensed milk and cream, she serves hers with a mango sauceand fresh mint leaves. I will try your strawberry sauce recipe, i suppose any frozen berries would work too. My mother processes her "sweet rice" in the food processer after cooking it and she adds the raisns after, the result is very creamy and smooth. I like the texture of the unprocessed one better. Rice is Versatile isnt it :-) you told us so!Nicolanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2019364330275165959.post-29450309839502211702007-05-17T02:07:00.000-04:002007-05-17T02:07:00.000-04:00Cynthia, wow, what a beautiful dish... that strawb...Cynthia, wow, what a beautiful dish... that strawberry sauce on rice pudding looks just so yummy!
