And the stuffed calamari ...Oh, I love those smelts! And the stuffed calamari looks incredible. I also love calamari; sadly, getting good fried ones at restaurants is not easy. If I get up to Chicago, I'll have to try the ones at Ditka's. It's funny how we remember these great meals; I still remember, from close to 30 years ago, fried clams that I had at an Italian restaurant on Fishermans' Wharf in SF. Light, airy, melt-in-your-mouth breading, succulent, tender clam inside—out of this world.
