The only time I really use bananas is in banana bread or to eat on it's own, or perhaps the odd banana split.

I wouldn't think of using green bananas but you have peeked my interest and am going to have to give them a try. I also love the photos. Just beautiful!

I love green bananas...almost ripe. Hehe my parents, their friends, my friends all HATE it that way. but I like when they are a little pink, but do not taste like fully ripe bananas. I dont eat those! (weird person)

Yes! I eat green banana's and plantains too. We usually boil them as well and eat them dipped with a salt/sesame seed sprinkle. At work, where there is no boiling water, my Viet staff will microwave the green bananas!

Eight years ago we spent a 2 week's holiday on Madeira - a small island 650 km west of North Africa. Their bananas is sweet and firm. EU has declared Madeira's bananas too small for export and you can get them only on Madeira and perhaps in Portugal. We had espada almost every day served with fried bananas - a local speciality. (Espada is a deep-sea fish). It tastes fantastic!
