Eating at Home - The Recommendations
>> Saturday, 21 August 2010
This week, I want to thank everyone, particularly those living in Guyana for their recommendations re: finding good pastries and Chinese good in Georgetown. Though I could not visit each place recommended, I did manage to get around to quite a few. Along the way, I also discovered some other treats.
The quest for tasty food anywhere in the world is often found not in the fancy eating establishments.
The recommended roast pork was very tasty.

THIS WEEK ON ABOUT.COM
Find out what we mean when we say, Hot Pepper, What is Caribbean Pepper Sauce and learn how to make your own.
To all my blog friends, I hope to catch up on your offerings soon!

The Roast pork looks absolutely delicious!! Love the photos in your blog too!
The pork roast looks delish! They make a great appetizer together with some sweet and sour pickles, and marinated pig ears.
It's funny, that: the "best" establishments tend to cater not towards authentic food, but towards the local taste, whereas the "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants can either be awful or they can be truly making something as found in their homeland. It's hard to tell, straight off, which it's going to be, but sometimes you get lucky. :)
I agree, cheap eats are the best! That's what I eat when I eat out too.
FYI, I've been eating bread and butter all week with a cup of tea. Come join me, Cynthia. You're always welcome.
Look delicious! x gloria

Take your time dear friend, I'll be here:)
loved love loved your hot pepper sauce recipe on about.com. im a huge hot sauce addict and cant wait to try making your recipe at home. im mildly obsessed with the fresh habanero sauce from our local mexican restaurant ;)
I've always preferred hole-in-the-wall places to fancy eating establishments. The smaller places are often family run businesses, and the recipes come from grandma. You can keep the table cloths - give me good food!!!
