Goodness, Gracious, Great Balls of Meat!

>> Saturday, 26 June 2010

By golly, I think I've got it. Finally, a meatball recipe that suits my taste perfectly - in texture and flavour. And to think, it all began innocently with me buying a packet of raw beef patties with no thoughts of meatballs. Continue reading the column for more about this moist, juicy meatball and to get the recipe.

Look at how moist it is:

Prepped and all ready for the frying pan. Give the recipe a try and let me know what you think.

This is the most spectacular photo of meatballs I have seen!! And they do look so moist. I recently made turkey meatballs and baked them in the oven, adding all sorts of ingredients to assure a moist and flavorful ball, but they still came out to dense and drier then I would have liked. These are a winner Cynthia!!

Wow! they look so good. Will have to try with turkey or chicken.

The meatballs looks delicious and so moist, however, I could not access the link to see the recipe as my computer blocked it as having a virus.

I agree with Laurie! These are the best meatballs I've ever seen! Great shots, Cynthia. I'm heading over to look at and bookmark the recipe right now.

Cynhtia those are some amazing pictures of meatballs. Does somebody have a new lens? What lens did you use for that shot? Unfortunately I can't see the delicious recipe because my virus software is blocking it due to a reported site attack

isn't panko the best bread crumbs yet? love the pics and will give this a try, since I absolute hate dried MBs and this looks juicy, but fully cooked.

Hi Cynthia,

This meatballs look and sound delicious! Thanks for the tips about adding the milk to the crumbs and letting the eggs warm. I'll have to try that!

I saw someone said happy birthday, so if I am not too late, I'll join in too. Happy Birthday! :)

Mouthwatering meat balls.... Looks gorgeous. YUM!

JehanP June 28, 2010 8:19 PM

Those look awesomely moist! My trick that I've always used is fresh bread crumbs. I use a few slices of white bread and give it a whirl in the food processor and add it to my meat, it guarantees a moist and tender meatball so I know your meatball will be absolutely moist and delicious!

The herbs , the garlic and onion must be flavoring the meat balls so well! Too good! Maybe I will give it a shot :D

Wow, Cynthia,
The pictures alone are worth a million bites!

That's very unusual (isn't it?) to enjoy meatballs without sauce. I can't believe I'm admitting this but I saw two of the NJ Housewives on Rachel Ray(!!!) and one of them actually also served her meatballs without sauce. Gosh, yours look good.

Juno June 29, 2010 4:51 PM

I am such a fan of good meatballs that are juicy inside, and crispy on the outside, and I have to say that these look just perfect. Meatballs are a big favourite in South Africa, and I make them often for my family. Love your photographs.

Try broiling them. Turn once. Once browned, cook until done. If adding to spaghetti sauce, it can finish cooking in that.
